My 5 Must Haves for any Wardrobe

Ladies if you are constantly looking at your wardrobe and becoming over whelmed with trying to put together outfits then maybe you need to go back to basics. It's time for you to start building a wardrobe that's more versatile. To help you, I have put together some of my must have neutral hero pieces which are guaranteed to help you create lots of different outfits from your tops and dresses. Always remember as you add new pieces to your wardrobe it's a brilliant idea to discard some of your older pieces that are no longer working hard for you. I know it's difficult to let go of certain items of clothing but sometimes you've just got to be strict with yourself. The more clothes you have in your wardrobe the less clothes you can see and the less clothes you end up wearing. A little trick can be to move some of the clothes you're not wearing into a spare wardrobe or drawer and if after 6 months you haven't missed them from your wardrobe - then Bye Bye!!

The Navy Coat

V by Very Curve Eyelet Detail Coat €100 from Littlewoods Ireland.....Buy Here

A navy coat! Navy is such an amazing colour when it comes to complimenting all skin tones. Plus it has all the slimming benefits of black, and navy like black is also a neutral colour meaning it will match with everything. I have chosen two navy coats one from V by Very (sizes 8 to 18) and the other from V by Very's Curve range (sizes 16 to 28). The particular style of both these coats is terrific as they will seamless tie in with all of your wardrobe - perfect for day, night and work! When making any purchases always think of your wardrobe and how it will work for you. Buy to get lots of wear from it!

Black Trouser/Jeans

Miss Selfridge Black Steffie Skinnies €35 from Littlewoods Ireland.....Buy Here

Black Jeans or a Black trouser, I promise once you have a pair that you love you will live in them. The reason these are on my must have list is because you can throw them on with heels, a simple top and some bling and you're set for any last minute night out. And of course they are great by day as well. The other type of jeans I would recommend are a dark wash denim. They look far dressier than light coloured jeans and can pretty much take you anywhere with the right styling.

A Blazer

A Blazer is another key piece for any wardrobe. I love wearing mine over dresses as well as with jeans and trousers. They add tailoring and a touch of style to even the simplest of tops or dresses. For an hour-glass shape I would recommend going for a short style with a defined waist. For pear shapes or figures with curvy hips make sure that the length of the jacket stops just after the widest part of your hips. If it stops at the widest part of your hips it will only draw attention to that area. Longline blazers will suit bustier ladies and the same can be said for a jacket with a peplum.

A Cardigan

V by Very Brushed Waterfall Cardigan €16.57 from Littlewoods Ireland....Buy Here

We love our warm layers, well I know I definitely do. It's worth looking out for nice stylish cardigans but put some time and thought into your purchase, the last thing you want is to add a frumpy knit that makes you feel like you've borrowed your grannies - even if you are a granny no one wants to feel like one ;-) The below cardigan has lovely ruched detail on the shoulders - did you know that statement detailing on shoulders acts as a slimming aid to your boobs, hips, tummy?

A Skirt

Nice neutral skirts in my opinion are very hard to find, particularly if you are looking for a length that is above the knee, mini length tends to be the only option. So I was thrilled when I came across my next find on ASOS. The length is perfect and the style is brilliant for concealing any tummy issues. I love it!

Prom Skirt with High Waist €40.54 from ASOS.....Buy Here

The next skirt is an A-Line shape and this shape of skirt will flatter all figures but in particular it will slim tummies, hips, boobs all our problem areas.

River Island Suedette Pencil Skirt Black €40 from Littlewoods Ireland.....Buy Here

Oh I do love a nice fitting Pencil skirt! The above style caught my eye because of the suedette fabric - it looks divine. While the below style made my list because of the peplum on the hem. Pencil skirts don't always suit ladies with larger hips but this style of peplum will balance out your hips meaning you can now also take advantage of the versatility of the pencil skirt.
