How to Accessorise a Blue Dress

So this morning I was checking out new arrivals on some of my favourite online shops and spotted this fabulous lace shift dress on Oasis. What I love most about this dress is the vibrant shade of blue, it's stunning. It is also available in black if the colour doesn't excite you as much as it does me.

The A-line shape of the skirt on this dress is one of the most flattering you can find. It has an amazing slimming effect on your tummy and boobs....now who doesn't love that. Also its just an easy and most importantly comfy shape to wear. This dress shows off a lot of leg so it's always a good idea to be more demure on top. The lace detail top is perfect and is a really gorgeous feature, the sheer neckline means we're covered up but still showing some skin. Of the course the sleeves are another feature that we all love, the length of these are great.

I'm going to show you how to accessorise this dress two ways.

Look 1 Accessorise with.....

For my first look I'm going to accessorise this lacey number with all white pieces for a simple classy look. The pieces I have chosen however are far from simplistic, they are very much wow in their own right!! They are definitely items you will wear again and again.

Barely there sandals are my favourite style of heel for an occasion. I love the frill detail on this white pair from River Island. Plus they are such a good price too.

Sticking to my colour scheme of white for our accessories, I found this divine clutch on ASOS. The pearl and bead detail is exquisite!

Look 2 Accessorise with.....

Okay so I kept the first look sleek yet striking, for my next look I'm going to have a little (actually a lot) of fun with colour and print.

First up I have gone for a standout red hue from New Look. I love a red shoe and get great wear out of my own pair from New Look. I wore them as recently as last weekend to a wedding (you may have seen my post on my social media pages). The pair I have found for you has a fabulous bow detail on the back. The heel is also great, it's not the skinny stiletto but it's not a chunky block heel either.....it's somewhere in the middle and I'm really liking it.

Okay so the shoes may not have seemed too crazy, wait until you see the clutch I have picked below. This is the fun statement piece!! What I love about it is, firstly it brings together the colour of the dress and the red colour of the shoes, and secondly it gives a nod to the yellow trend of this season.

Styling Tip
Your clutch and shoes do not have to match. In fact I very rarely match my bag with my shoes.

Which look do you prefer Ladies? Maybe you like both....it's nice to be able to wear your dresses different ways!!

Hope you enjoyed my post and found some inspiration on how to accessorise.
