Big Eyebrows: They're Here to Stay!

by Anne Hutton Makeup & Beauty, Carlow

Ladies, the "big brow" trend isn't going anywhere, so if you are considering growing out your brows now is the time!
Here is my guide to getting big beautiful brows, and all the cheats...

1. Treat your Brows like you Treat your Hair.

How can you expect to have full healthy brows if you you don't treat them with care? Condition your eyebrows with a good quality brow conditioning product.

Splurge: Talika Eyebrow Lipocils

Saver: Ardell Lash and Brow Growth Accelerator

2. Professional Shaping.

Shaping the brow properly to suit your face shape and natural brow shape is very important. Your brow technician will leave the hairs in place that are needed to thicken up brows, and merely tidy up the brow and re-shape as necessary. It may take a couple of visits before they are at their best.
Book in with an experienced brow expert, such as me ;-)  and have your brows professionally shaped and tidied, and tinted if necessary.

Splurge: HD Brows brand (see HD Brow website)
Saver: A good quality Eyebrow Tint & Shape & Tidy (the very same thing, but emphasis on "good" as there are poor quality products & services out there also!)

3. Big Doesn't Have to Mean Bushy.

Keep your brows well groomed, and hold in place with a brow gel  by combing through and shaping, or use hairspray sprayed directly onto a clean mascara wand and brushed through brows- cheap and cheerful!

Splurge: Benefit Speedbrow

Saver: Ardell Brow Sclupting Gel

4. Fill in the Gaps.

Even after tinting you may have some gaps that need to be filled in. Use brow pencil, or a powder in the correct colour. Blend in by brushing through gently with a brow brush.

5. Highlight the brow bone

Do this discreetly, nothing shimmery or shiny. Use a light creamy textured brow highlighter such as Benefit High Brow (or a light coloured concealer) to highlight the brow bone and give a great brow shape, also giving coverage to small hairs while growing out the brows.

Try this out, and leave a comment or tick a box if you found this helpful.

Correct Skin Cleansing Tip!

by Anne Hutton Makeup & Beauty, Carlow

THE WRONG WAY: Do you, like many women, pump a little cleanser onto a cotton pad then wip over the skin on your face? Well, I can tell you that you are wasting your cleanser and not even getting a properly cleansed skin! All this does is wipes the surface clean, and does not get right into those pores...

THE RIGHT WAY: A more effective way of cleansing is to pump you cleanser onto your finger tips, massage the cleanser directly into your skin using small circular movements, then remove with damp cotton pads. This works the cleanser (be it a cream, lotion or oil) into the skin, loosens up any dirt and makeup, then it all gets wiped away properly with the damp cotton pad. It also aids the skin's micro-circulation, boosting your skin's natural repairing, detoxing and firming.
Follow with a suitable toner to remove any residue, and moisturise well. Use an eye cream around the eye area.

Try this at home yourselves, and why not leave us a comment if you found it useful!
